Jim was an avid student of history and cultures, who considered himself a passionate life-long learner. He was a world traveler who savored the journey, no matter where it led. Most importantly, Jim was a constant friend, caring son and brother, and inspirational mentor.
As a police dispatcher, Jim excelled at serving others because of his incredible ability to think on his feet, to empathize, and to direct. He dedicated himself to his career wholeheartedly, and strived to make the system more effective for the public and emergency personnel. In addition to his service professionally, he volunteered his time to Corona High School students as a Mock Trial coach. He was respected by his peers and students alike.
Jim passed away suddenly in 2000 at the age of 26. Though his generosity had not been measured in hours, dollars, or gifts, the things Jim gave—his time, his love, his guidance, his support—will always be remembered. His passion for life and unwavering advocacy for kindness will always remain his legacy.
